Location: Wittenbergplatz, Berlin-Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Germany
The Christmas Market at KaDeWe is a stylish, boutique-style market set on the southern section of Wittenbergplatz in Schöneberg, City West (Berlin), directly in front of the world-famous Kaufhaus des Westens department store. Described as "small, fine and with a special flair," it offers around 30 white pagoda tents whose roofs glow red from inside in the evening, with heated interiors for comfortable browsing in any weather. Under the patronage of the Governing Mayor of Berlin, it positions itself as an elegant, curated alternative to larger markets, and supports charitable causes including the Berliner Kältebus and Berliner Aidshilfe. Stalls feature a rotating selection of handicrafts, design items, and gift ideas, with many traders changing weekly. Food highlights include organic sausage, mulled wine, chestnuts, and a specially brewed Berlin winter beer by the Neukölln mountain brewery, with street food served on porcelain. A small stage hosts live music and performances throughout the season. The market is accessible to visitors with limited mobility. Wittenbergplatz is served by U-Bahn lines U1, U2, and U3, as well as buses M19, M29, and M46.
