Dates: December 4 – 6, 2026
Location: Richardplatz, 12055 Berlin, Germany
The Christmas Market in Alt-Rixdorf takes place in the Richardkiez neighbourhood of Neukölln, on the cobblestoned Richardplatz at the heart of Berlin's historic Bohemian Village (Böhmisches Dorf). The square is framed by buildings dating to 1737, including the Bethlehem church and the village smithy, and is lit entirely by kerosene lamps rather than electric lights, giving it a distinctive old-world atmosphere. Uniquely in Berlin, all of the approximately 200 stalls are run exclusively by non-profit associations and charitable organisations, with proceeds going to charitable projects. Visitors can browse handmade crafts, wooden toys, jewellery, candles, honey, and Christmas decorations, and enjoy food and drinks including mulled wine, mead, pea soup, waffles, and grilled meats. Activities include live music from up to 15 groups, pony rides, visits from Santa Claus, and a chance to explore the historic smithy. The market is reachable by S-Bahn (S41, S42, S45, S46, S47 to Neukölln), U-Bahn (U7 to Karl-Marx-Straße), or bus (171, M41, N7 to Hertzbergplatz).
