Christmas Market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

Dates: November 23, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Location: Breitscheidpl. 1, 10789 Berlin, Germany

The Christmas Market on Breitscheidplatz is one of Berlin's most iconic Christmas markets, set around the landmark Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche) in the Charlottenburg district, City West, between Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzienstraße. It claims to feature the world's longest Christmas illumination, crafted from over 100,000 baubles, lights, and LED lamps, along with three 17.5-metre-tall illuminated Christmas pyramids, a 400-metre overhead carpet of light, and nine-metre-tall light-cone entrances framed by real Christmas trees. The market is one of the few in Berlin that stays open past Christmas and into the New Year, and its opening ceremony is traditionally marked by a church service at the Gedächtniskirche. Over 100 decorated stalls offer glass art, bronze art, handmade toys, Christmas ornaments, and crafts from across Germany. Food and drink include mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle, bratwurst, waffles, roasted almonds, Germknödel, and hot chocolate. Carousels and amusement rides are available for children, and a charitable mulled wine sale supports a heating bus for homeless people. The market is easily reached by S-Bahn (S3, S5, S7, S9) and U-Bahn (U2, U9) to Zoologischer Garten, or U1 to Kurfürstendamm.
